Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is used to visualize the oral anatomy. This technology can detect abnormalities present in the teeth, jawbone, and oral soft tissue. A CT scanner rotates 360 degrees around the head to obtain all necessary information. It captures thousands of images, then stitches them together. The result is a 3-D representation of your dental anatomy and is simple, non-invasive and takes about a minute to complete. This technology is helpful when treatment planning complex cases, such as dental implants and root canal treatment.
Dental problems occur not only on the surface of the teeth, but in many places hidden from the naked eye as well. In order to improve our diagnostic services, we’ve invested in digital X-rays. As opposed to traditional, film-based X-rays, they require only a fraction of the time to develop and don’t require toxic chemicals to do so. They can be easily stored and sent ad infinitum as well. Even better, they also reduce radiation exposure up to 90%!
This small, camera-tipped wand will enable you to finally see your smile from your dentist’s point of view. It can be easily maneuvered inside the mouth to capture high-resolution images of your teeth and gums, which we can instantly show you on a chairside monitor. This will not only make it much easier for us to spot dental issues, but they’ll also give you an opportunity to better understand your oral health.
Intraoral scanner eliminates messy dental impressions and makes capturing digital impressions fast and easy. To take the impressions, the clinician scans your mouth with a small handheld device (wand). As the wand passes over your teeth, it captures thousands of images and sends them to a computer software program. The pictures are stitched together to create a 3-D virtual model of your dental anatomy. In most case, this process can be completed in about 5 minutes. Digital impressions are more comfortable, more accurate and faster. The images are stored electronically and can be shared with a dental lab in minutes minimizing the wait time in placement of your custom restorations.
Occasionally, patients can suffer from dental anxiety, which is a very real problem for some patients. If you are someone who has postponed needed dental care due to fear of a dental visit, we are here to help you. We offer nitrous oxide sedation for all procedures through the use of a state-of-the-art delivery system in each treatment room.
Additionally, we offer oral sedation through the use of a simple tablet taken one hour before your appointment. Unlike nitrous oxide, patients will need to have an escort who can drive them to and from our office. It is our mission to provide a safe, comfortable, anxiety-free appointment for you.
